Harissa : paprika Pasta

It is commonly used to season couscous, or in marinades for meats and vegetables. Tunisia is the world’s leading exporter of prepared harissa, and produces 22,000 tonnes per year. The word “harissa” comes from the Arabic word harasa which means “to break into pieces” or “to pound”.


Harissa is a hot pepper paste from Tunisia, sometimes described as “the main condiment of Tunisia”. Bright red in color, it is served with most meals and is often used as an ingredient in stews and soups.
